Launched in 2018 with an event in Nashville featuring Lady A, Morgan Evans, and Carly Pearce, Backroads is a modern Country music station created by Pandora's Programming team and realized by our in-house Creative Strategy, Design, and Events teams. The station artwork was updated in 2021 as part of Pandora’s newly launched Flagship series.

Backroads artists don’t fit into a box. They are uniquely ‘country’, authentic, and speak directly to the next generation of country fans. They’re not afraid to cross genre boundaries and do things their own way. Backroads is a mix of country songs with Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, Electronic, and traditional Country influences. Although always respectful of classic and traditional country, it’s not cowboy hats, ropes, cows (or horses), square dancing, two-stepping, or rodeos.
